THE HUIA SETTLERS MUSEUM

The Huia Settlers Museum is situated in West Auckland in the Regional Park area in the beautiful Karamatura Valley with its backdrop of rugged bush clad hills and steep rocky bluffs. It is close to the popular Karamatura Reserve and stream providing ideal picnicking and walking opportunities, in particular the Hillary Trail. The Waitakere Ranges Regional Park is administered by Auckland Council.  Huia is 16km from Titirangi, approximately 20 minutes by road in normal conditions.   Visit the Huia Store in Huia Bay and learn of its long history
( formerly the old Huia Store and Post office).

    $5.00 per person (Children under 12yrs Free)
  • Who runs the museum?
    The Huia Settlers Museum is registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005. Community owned, and managed entirely by volunteers, we are grateful for all monetary donations.
  • Do you have wheelchair access?
    The Museum can be accessed by wheelchair.
